You have the right to take your vehicle to any auto repair shop for service and maintenance. Your dealer cannot force you to use only the dealership automotive shop, which is often more expensive.
Some people advise taking a car in every 3,000 miles for an oil change and general maintenance. Others will advise a “check-up” once every three months.
How often your car needs to be seen depends on a lot of factors, such as the age of the car, its overall condition, and any issues that are present. The best way to get set up on a regular schedule of maintenance is to have one of our professionals take a full look at your car and then advise a schedule for you.
People are often very concerned about what to do when they go on vacation or otherwise have to leave their car sitting for an extended period of time.
While every car is different, you generally don’t have to worry about this much unless the car is going to be sitting for more than three weeks. When that’s the case, have someone drive or at least start the car regularly to get it warmed up and to keep important internal components from drying out.
